How did the Arizona Historymakers Program begin?
Who started the Arizona Historymakers™ Program? In 1992, Mary Ward, Pam Ward and Marilyn Parke worked with then-museum director Andrew Masich to honor Arizonans who have made a major impact in our lives.
Historymakers first chair Marilyn Parke wrote, “The Recognition Program seeks to preserve Arizona’s history and familiarize the public, particularly our youth, with special Arizonans from diversified fields.”
Susan Dale has been active since that first Gala with fundraising and organization.

Marilyn Parke's Cherished Legacy Recipe for pancakes
When our granddaughter wanted pancakes after a sleepover, Tastes & Treasures II had the recipe. She was able to make them herself (with Nana doing the cooking.) We embellished with fresh blueberries, raspberries, topping with bananas and whipped cream.
Thanks to the Cherished Legacy section with Marilyn Parke's family favorite. Easy recipes and complex recipes, Tastes & Treasures II has them all.

Historymakers Gala chairs meeting
A Meeting of the Minds . . . this awesome group of ladies has chaired
the Historymakers Gala and Recognition Program starting in 1992 with
first chair Marilyn Parke. It is a privilege and honor to be included in this group.
It takes hard work, dedication and passion but the Historymakers program
is so very worthwhile. ![]() |
