1950 aerial view with Camelback Mt |
Previewing the house prior to the Historical League event on April 9, we were delighted to see the details and learn so much about the building and Frank Lloyd Wright's intentions for the home. Designing the home for his son David and daughter-in-law Gladys, it was originally intended to be wood outside. But since David worked for a concrete block company in Phoenix, the plans were changed to include concrete.
Imagine what the area looked like in 1950.

Lindsay gave us the tour. She is standing where the pool was. |
Looking forward to our fundraising event for www.NHDAZ.org at the home on April 9. National History Day students and teachers will be there. Guest speaker Architect Barry Johns is very knowledgeable of Frank Lloyd Wright. Delicious food. Unique Silent Auction items. Guest pianist. A lovely Evening Under the Stars.
