3TV Good Morning AZ Weekend with Leslie Christiansen

Leslie and 3TV host Lina DeFlorias
Tastes & Treasures II: A Storytelling Cookbook of Historic Arizona was featured on 3TV Good Morning AZ Weekend Sunday, May 27 with Chef Leslie Christiansen. She talked about the history and recipes with host Lina DeFlorias. Leslie did a fabulous job on the air. She could have her own cooking show!
She commented, "So many people enjoyed traveling around AZ visiting the historic resorts with the first Tastes and Treasures that we included a map in Volume II." Leslie showed Lina how easy it is to find all the restaurants with the map on page 6-7.

Visit to Tubac Golf Resort and Spa

Tastes & Treasures II is now on the shelves at the beautiful Tubac Golf Resort gift shop. We toured this historic venue on our recent overnight trip to SE Arizona. Full of history, we enjoyed a detailed talk, then walking tour of the grounds. So much to see and learn!
Did you know . . .
The Otero Family who were the original settlers of the property dating back to 1789.
Cattle still roam the fields, occasionally near the golf course.
Juan Batista DeAnza was the commandant of the Tubac Presidio and led an expedition west that ultimately founded the city of San Francisco.
The Tubac Golf Resort and Spa was made famous by Kevin Costner’s 1996 movie “Tin Cup,” where many of the scenes were filmed.

Volunteers are the foundation of all organizations. We have the best with the Historical League, even helping other non-profits.  The sold-out event for Women's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at AZ Heritage Center was well supported.
Tastes & Treasures II was available thanks to Mariamne Moore and Norma Jean Coulter. With Pam Stevenson stopping by, the background stories in our new historic AZ cookbook were shared.
