Historymaker 2017 Exhibit Opening

It was a lovely evening at the AZ Heritage Center October 18 with the opening of the 2017 Historymakers Exhibit. The excitement grew as the crowds came in. Nothing like visiting with some amazing Arizonans who were instrumental in growing the state. Congratulations again to Ed Beauvais, Wink Crigler, Senator Jon Kyl, Harry and Rose Papp, Dr. Robert Spetzler and Pastor Warren Stewart, Sr.

Fabulous evening filled with Tuxedos, Turquoise and talented honorees. Kudos to co-chairs Deb Hester and Pat Faur for all their hard work in creating this AMAZING event. So many people to give credit to especially President Anne Lupica, all the committee members, and Andrea Evans of Evans Communications. The Arizona Biltmore ballroom never looked so good, the speeches and videos were inspiring and the food was delicious. The professional pictures will come later but here's a few teasers.

The Historical League presents Arizona Historymakers Gala XII

6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Arizona Biltmore, 2400 E Missouri Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85016.

The Historymakers Gala is a unique opportunity to celebrate and preserve for future generations the important and diverse contributions made to Arizona history by our honorees. The theme for the evening is "Turquoise & Tuxedos," and the dress is "Western Black Tie" . . . which translates: to wearing what is celebratory, with perhaps a western or turquoise touch, and comfortable and fun for you.
The selected 2017 honorees will be presented and honored at the Gala dinner. The highlight of the evening is a video program that tells each Historymaker’s unique life story and accomplishments.
Tickets are $350/person. There are also sponsorship opportunities.
The Historical League has been holding the Historymakers event since 1992 with the purpose of: raising funds for education, exhibits, and other programs that assist the AZ Heritage Center at Papago Park; contributing to the museum’s artifact, oral history and photograph collections; increasing public awareness of the 80,000-square-foot history museum; recognizing and honoring outstanding living Arizonans and celebrating Arizona’s statehood day, February 14, 1912.

2017 Historymaker Gala and Recognition Program

It's exciting to see the 2017 Historymakers Gala and Recognition Program coming together. Invitations were mailed last week. The Historical League is proud to recognize such an outstanding group of honorees for the Historymakers Gala March 4, 2017. Their stories and artifacts will continue to be told at the Historymakers Lobby Exhibit at AZ Heritage Center at Papago Park after the Gala event.
