Unveiling 2023 Arizona Historymaker Exhibit

 Ribbon cutting and unveiling of 2023 Arizona Historymakers™ Exhibit was first on the agenda for the October 14 Celebration. Special invitations for the early unveiling event were given to Historymakers, dignitaries, sponsors and guests. Speeches were made. The crowd was enthusiastic. National History Day students had great views from the balcony. Lots of photos taken!

Delicious food served at Unveiling of 2014 Historymakers Exhibit

“History in the Making" event at the Museum had a buffet table filled with fabulous food. Thanks to the Dancing Chef Mark Vanek for doing the catering. Many of the delicious menu items were taken from the League cookbook “Tastes and Treasures.”

AHS Museum new name is Arizona Heritage Center at Papago Park

The "Unveiling of 2014 Historymakers Exhibit" on October 22 brought dignitaries, supporters and Historymakers to the Museum. Tawn Downs, the new AHS Central Division Director, thanked the League for all its support and laid out her vision for a focused marketing initiative to increase the visibility of the museum in the Valley. She also announced the new name of our museum: AZ Heritage Center at Papago Park.

Dancing Chef caters History in the Making Exhibit


Event Chair Anne Lupica thanks Mark for the
delicious food and beautiful presentation.
The Dancing Chef Mark Vanek provided the wonderful food for the “History in the Making" event at a very affordable prices. Many of the delicious menu items were taken from the League cookbook “Tastes & Treasures.” 
The recipe for Sherried Shrimp with Capers is from La Posada Hotel in Winslow. Found on page 60 of Tastes & Treasures cookbook.
