Does Arizona need to know about water issues? You bet!! Sarah Porter, director of the Kyl Center for Water Policy at Arizona State University's Morrison Institute for Public Policy, was our guest speaker today. The Kyl Center promotes research, analysis, collaboration and dialogue to build consensus in support of sound water stewardship solutions for AZ and the West. Sarah serves on Gov. Ducey's Water Augmentation, Innovation and Conservation Council, University of Arizona's Water Resources Research Center's External Advisory Council, the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Board, Phoenix's Environmental Quality and Sustainability Commission and several other community boards.
A native of Phoenix, Sarah received her bachelor's degree with honors from Harvard College and her J.D. from Arizona State University College of Law. Before joining the Kyl Center, she was the Arizona state director of the National Audubon Society, where she worked on the Western Rivers Project and helped launch the Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center, a nature education center located in a restored riparian habitat in South Phoenix.
