Volunteers are the foundation of all organizations. We have the best with the Historical League, even helping other non-profits.  The sold-out event for Women's Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at AZ Heritage Center was well supported.
Tastes & Treasures II was available thanks to Mariamne Moore and Norma Jean Coulter. With Pam Stevenson stopping by, the background stories in our new historic AZ cookbook were shared.

Stories from Historymakers Wall Exhibit at AZ Heritage Center

While viewing Historymakers Wall exhibit at AZ Heritage Center during the AZ History Convention Friday reception, some stories came to light.
Jack Allen was a Boy Scout with Historymaker John Driggs.  John's father, Doug, drove seven of them, crammed into a 1935 Chevy army ambulance, to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming for their mountain climbing badge. It was high on the mountain that Doug Driggs celebrated his 50th birthday. Great memories for those Boy Scouts.

Beautiful silver and turquoise jewelry was worn at the Friday reception. Linda Cravens wore her mother's necklace purchased circa 1890. Made from hammered coins it is a lovely piece. The original string broke years ago. Fortunately all the beads fell into her lap so it has been restrung with wire now.

AZ History Convention reception at AZ Heritage Center

Norma Jean Coulter and Julie Moore visit with Lew Armer
It was an enjoyable time April 27, celebrating the AZ History Convention with an evening reception at AZ Heritage Center. Strolling through exhibits, visits with old friends, good food from Dancing Chef and Tastes & Treasures II cookbook on display. Norma Jean Coulter and Julie Moore did a great job talking about and selling cookbooks.

Les Roe was happy to see the Historymaker display he created 15 + years ago is still functioning well and versatile.
Ruth McLeod and Pam Stevenson reminisce with Les about past exhibits he designed.
