Day at the Museum for NHDAZ organizers

Saturday, May 4 at Western Spirit Scottsdale's Museum of the West.

Praise from League volunteers for AHS Dr. Kristen Rex, Leonard Moody and Stacey Trepanier, "All did a great job organizing A Day at the Museum. It was both fun and helpful to the National History Day Arizona (NHDAZ) students in making their projects even better in preparation for going to Maryland for the national competition! The Historical League is proud of our participation today and our support of NHDAZ."

NHDAZ teachers are appreciated

Historical League is proud to support NHDAZ teachers. Glad to see them holding our book, Tastes & Treasures II: A Storytelling Cookbook of Historic Arizona. Filled with information about Arizona, the book is helpful for their students also.

National History Day in Arizona is feeling thankful.

NHDAZ loves our teachers! Although teacher appreciation should be everyday we wish you all a great teacher appreciation week!

National History Day Students and Parents attend 2023 Arizona Historymakers Celebration

Parents can make such a big difference in the life of a child. National History Day AZ students excelled at National Competition this year and parents played a big supporting role. The Historical League is an advocate of the NHDAZ program (both financially and with volunteers) and invited the students and parents to 2023 Arizona Historymakers Celebration Oct. 14. One parent remarked, "It is good to have the students recognized for all their hard work, not just by their peers but also by adults who value history."

National History Day AZ student Thanvi Voruganti is Junior Best in State Winner for documentary

Teacher Stacey Trepanier writes, "Our junior National History Day Best in State Winner was Thanvi for her individual documentary Vietnam: New Frontiers in Media Coverage."
Another way to express it is she is also 20th in the World for individual documentary.

When asked what does NHD mean to you?, Thanvi replied:
"The National History Day process has helped improve my technological ability, my writing skills, and ultimately help me find my voice. New perspectives and experiences have also helped me assess my personal opinions and ultimately embrace history as a tool to help make future decisions. Overall, NHD was a highly enjoyable procedure and truly benefitted me in many ways. "

The Historical League is proud to help sponsor these students in NHDAZ.
