Join the Arizona Historical Society for a virtual conversation on Thursday, November 12, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. with renowned contemporary artist Katharine McKenna. From 1977-1978, McKenna worked for the Museum of Northern Arizona and spent time documenting Northern Arizona people and places. Hear from McKenna about her Northern Arizona ethnology and archeology work from her recent publications, “The Paleontologists Daughter” and “Navajo Collecting Trip.” During this period of her life, McKenna documented her experiences through her writing as well as photography.

A fascinating look into the history of water in Phoenix was presented at the November Historical League meeting by Leah Harrison, manager of Research Archives and Heritage at Salt River Project. We are fortunate to have such outstanding speakers sharing their knowledge and history in Zoom meetings. The photos tell some of the amazing story. Thanks to Dee Steen for co-ordinating the speaker.

New Website improvements
Thanks to our new website manager, Cathy Shumard, we now have several improvements to www.HistoricalLeague.org including a Members Only Portal. It has lots of valuable information as well as photos and backgrounds .Cathy and her website assistant Diane Smith presented this at the October zoom meeting. So nice to have Historical League data and documents available for members.
