Folk and Heritage Festival at Sahuaro Ranch, Glendale February 20-March 1

Join the Historical League at Folk & Heritage Festival this weekend, Sahuaro Ranch in Glendale, 10 am - 5 pm. Lots of history, music, presentations, re-enactors, the Wild West comes alive!! Visit our booth and Tastes & Treasures: A Storytelling Cookbook of Historic Arizona. Janet Weiss, Patt Walker, Bonnie Newhoff, Karolee Hess, and Mariamne will be there.

The Glendale Folk and Heritage Festival brings together folk music and the rich heritage of Sahuaro Ranch Historic area. In addition, there will be activities including "jam sessions", storytelling, cowboy poetry, and more!

Tastes & Treasures II at Folk and Heritage Festival at Sahuaro Ranch March 2-3

The annual Glendale Folk and Heritage Festival will be a celebration of folk music, its history and culture, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2-3. Drawing from a rich heritage of ranching, railroading and mining, the Folk and Heritage Festival allows attendees to experience the unique diversity of the Southwest. We will have a booth featuring our cookbooks and merchandise.
The festival takes place at the city’s Historic Sahuaro Ranch, 9802 N. 59th Ave., and at Glendale Main Public Library, 5959 W. Brown St. The free event features folk and bluegrass music performed by more than 400 musicians, live cowboy poetry and authentic storytelling, with five stages of music throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Marshall Trimble, Arizona’s Official State Historian, will open the festival Saturday morning, and he, along with other Culture Keepers named during Arizona’s Centennial, will present workshops with story and song that celebrate our state and its history during the festival. The Arizona Culture Keepers, including Trimble, will appear individually and in song circles and workshops.
