Congrats to Linda Corderman winning Lamp of Learning Award

Kudos to Historical League member Linda Corderman for winning the Lamp of Learning Award. This award is a one-time honor presented by the Washington Elementary School District to staff, community and business members who have made outstanding contributions to the students of the District.
 

This prestigious award is the highest recognition given in the Washington District. Its objective is to recognize those who have dedicated themselves to improving the quality of education in the District and in the state while exemplifying the Vision, Mission, and Values of the WESD. 

 Linda and other honorees will be recognized at the Lamp of Learning Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 6, 2016, at The Sheraton Crescent, 2620 W. Dunlap Avenue, Phoenix.

League members volunteer

With another cookbook order to be delivered to Rock Springs Cafe, I asked if someone would be able to deliver boxes of books. In a few hours, I had many Historical League members volunteer for the job. Thanks to Judy Blackwell, Renee Donnelly, Karolee Hess, Sharron McKinney, Margaret Baker, Carol Griffin and Karen Swanson for stepping up!

Updated website for Historical League

We are excited to introduce an updated Historical League website. There are still many things to correct but we are getting close. Zona Lorig and Ruth McLeod work to bring new colors, format, photos and links to www.HistoricalLeague.org. Many other League members have contributed to produce this new look as well as hiring a professional to guide us.

Thanks to Joan Robinson who started it and now Maika Winters as well as all the League members who have helped bring this website to a new level.
