Lincoln Co. Courthouse

Cathy Martin examines the bullet hole in the Courthouse wall.
Stories and Tall Tales of Billy the Kid were all over Lincoln, New Mexico during our Historical League tour. The area is known as Billy the Kid Scenic Byway in honor of William Bonney aka Billie the Kid.

The 75th annual pageant commemorating the "Last Escape of Billy the Kid" will take place in Lincoln August 7-9, 2015.
Sitting on the original benches at the Courthouse,
Historical League members learn about trials in the 1880s.

Zona stands before the imaginary judge.

Hubbard Museum of the American West

Susie Brinegar and Karen Overton at the entrance. Interesting
that this facility was a hockey rink in 1970.
Cathy Aimone Martin is dwarfed by the size of the horse
Greeting us as we approached the Hubbard Museum of the American West was this amazing installation of running horses.  Larger than life, we felt caught up in their movements. Another amazing stop of our Historical League tour of New Mexico.

Inn of the Mountain Gods, New Mexico

Delores Tomasek, Carolyn Mendoza, Pat Faur,
Norma Jean Coulter and more enjoy the lobby
views with two zip lines in the background.

Ski hills are visible in the distance
Ruth McLeod enjoys her balcony
view with fountain in the lake
Huge lobby fountain looked like a traditional basket
with stunning views of the lake, golf course
and snow covered mountains
A beautiful place to relax after a full day of touring southern New Mexico, the Inn of the Mountain Gods had everything we needed.

White Sands National Monument - more pictures

Ruth McLeod and Julie Moore climbing
to the top fighting the wind.

Karen Overton climbs back up after she ran down the entire hill!

Hard not to take pictures of this fascinating place!
Cathy Martin from Socorro, NM finds lots of sand
in her pants. Cathy was a guest and good friend of
Ruth McLeod from Michigan Technological University.

Fearless Susie Brinegar still smiling after
she rolled down the entire hill!
