Historymakers Exhibit Opening in Scottsdale Progress

From the Scottsdale Progress Oct 27, 2019
“This is what I do best,” former Arizona Secretary of State Betsey Bayless quipped with a pair of shears in her hands.
After a short countdown, Bayless, surrounded by a few of her 2019 Arizona Historymakers cohort, cut the blue ribbon for the Arizona Historical League’s 2019 Arizona Historymakers Exhibit at the Arizona Heritage Center in Papago Park.
The now-open exhibit follows the 2019 Arizona Historymakers “Turquoise and Tuxedos” Gala that took place Feb. 23, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, where six distinguished Arizonans were recognized for their lasting contribution to the community in diverse areas, including the arts, education, healthcare, communications, community service, and philanthropy.

Tastes & Treasures a popular item at Fountain Hills Art Festival

Pat Christopherson and Norma Jean visit with interested customers.
Always a great place to introduce people to Tastes & Treasures II, Arizona Heritage Center, Historical League, and Historymakers program, we enjoyed 3 days at Fountain Hills Festival of the Arts Nov 8,9,10. It was warm and sunny, and the crowds loved the shopping.

Thanks to Linda Corderman, Ruth McLeod, Donna Esposito, Norma Jean Coulter, Karen Overton, Pat Christopherson, Lyn Wood and Patti Goss for sharing food and stories of Arizona.

Strategic Planning Meeting

Fabulous strategic planning meeting for the Historical League at The Scott hotel was held on Monday, November 4. We talked in great depth about the future of the Historical League and how to get there.
New League member, Pat Grogg was an amazing facilitator.
Thanks to Susan Dale for all the organizing, Nina Filippi for all the Quickbooks reports.
Loved the classic '56 Chevy parked in front of the hotel.
