Celebrate National Pi Day with Pie
Sunday, March 14 is National Pi Day. Whether you are a mathematician or not, you can celebrate with pie from Tastes & Treasures II: A Storytelling Cookbook of Historic Arizona. Five different recipes for pie are featured in the book along with backgrounds and food memories. Sedona's Apple Pie Dessert, page 171, relates to the life of Sedona Schnebly in 1901 Oak Creek Canyon. Mom's Sugar Cream Pie, page 162, gives us a vision of Phoenix in 1908 from O'Neil Printing. Boston Creme Pie, page 169, shares the heart-warming story of Pam Ryan. Or you can visit historic Rock Springs Cafe and purchase Mixed Berry Pie, page 103, and Apple Pie, page 106. Enjoy your pie!

Kudos to O'Neil Printing
Kudos to a Great Company O'Neil Printing. We are proud to have worked with them on several projects, most recently Tastes & Treasures II storytelling cookbook. Anthony Narducci, President, said “O’Neil has been part of the fabric of Arizona for more than 100 years. We are always looking for ways to support organizations that are helping our neighbors, especially children and families who are most vulnerable,” said Narducci. “School food service programs continue to meet very practical hunger and nutrition needs of children in our communities and we wanted to do something to help out where we could.”
To assist with the marketing efforts of school meal programs, O’Neil is offering free breakfast and lunch banners in two unique designs for qualifying school districts, particularly those with a majority low-income population.

Thanks to those marvelous "eagle eyes" we found a few more corrections before the book goes to print. Margaret Baker, Zona Lorig, Nina Filippi joined cookbook co-chairs Leslie Christiansen, Cathy Shumard and Ruth McLeod to see the Press Proof. After two years of working on this book, we are thrilled to see it at the printer.
Debra Thompson, our project manager at O'Neil Printing, was a joy to work with. O'Neil Printing is an outstanding company for quality and customer service.
