Annual Recognition Luncheon at Phoenix Country Club

What a way to celebrate Historical League volunteers at the Annual Recognition Luncheon! Beautiful venue, beautiful day, beautiful program and volunteers with beautiful dedication to all things that are Arizona history including 139,000+ hours of volunteering this year promoting Arizona history and the Arizona Heritage Center programs.

The Historical League has the Annual Meeting every May, announcing the new Board of Directors for the next year and honoring those who have served. We are pleased to have Jolynn Clarke as the new President and these wonderful ladies chairing various committees for 2025-2026.

New Board announced at Annual Recognition Luncheon

 Annual Recognition Luncheon was a day celebrating our volunteers with Thank you gifts and words of praise. We are grateful that President Chris Hackett will continue her year into October 2023. Nancy Evans had a special Thank you for Chris, who is always so thoughtful at the Historical League and at animal rescue. Thanks to Anne Lupica who will be our President in November.

Desserts were a highlight of our Recognition Luncheon. Biggest problem was deciding which one!

Historians Katie Tovar and Karolee Hess do a fabulous job documenting the Historical League year in photos and creating scrapbooks. The most recent photo books were on display at the Annual Recognition Luncheon. We are all about history and we appreciate how they document our years.

Annual Recognition Luncheon at Seasons 52

Recognition Luncheon is always a highlight of the year, honoring all Historical League volunteers with speeches, awards, gifts. It was a full house Thursday as President Chris Hackett thanked all those she worked with this year. AHS President Linda Whitaker views the League as models of forward thinking in terms of finances, fundraising, online, social media. AHS Executive Director Dr. David Breeckner was appreciative of the League for the many programs we support, especially National History Day AZ.

Thanks to event organizers Anne Lupica, Nina Filippi and Ileen Snoddy for a lovely event.

Comments were made about the delightful scent in the room. It turns out Anne Lupica brought in 8 gardenia blooms from her garden. The day before she only had 4 blooms but nature co-operated! Ruth McLeod said, "I wondered who was wearing such lovely perfume." Carolyn Hartman said, "I had the most lovely scented dream that night."
