Historical League is happy to support Juneteenth at AZHC with funding and volunteers. When asked to give a live report during the event, Historical League member Norma Jean Coulter replied, "Sorry busy volunteering; 400+ people; food is amazing: Mac and Cheese, Brisket, Chicken wings, Peach cobbler and Sweet potato pie!" At least she was able to send pictures.

June Historical League Meeting
See you in September was the thought of the June meeting since many of us are gone for the summer. But busy members continue to work on projects. NHDAZ is in College Park, MD starting this weekend . Many members are working on the Arizona Historymakers Celebration Oct 14 at AZHC with ten amazing Honorees. Budgets, social media, new members, website, tours, PR, agendas, the list goes on and on.
Tastes & Treasures Vol I (sold out) has delicious recipes from Lons at Hermosa Inn. Creations by Sergio prepared the Strawberry Chicken Salad for our June lunch. Delicious way to enjoy our last meeting for the year. Thanks to Bonnie Newhoff for the photos. She said the macaroons were yummy too!

National History Day AZ student Aryasp Nejat website from 2016 is timeless.
NHDAZ is an amazing program and Aryasp Nejat created a beautiful tribute through this website to WWII Lt. Cecil Corley. This is a wonderful presentation and one of the many reasons the Historical League supports National History Day AZ. Thank you for sharing this.
NHDAZ teacher and co-ordinator Stacey Trepanier went with a group of NHD students to Normandy in 2016. She posted these words today from Aryasp Nejat: 79 years ago, they fought for the beaches. He was but one of the many. Sharing Lt. Cecil Corley's story and honoring his sacrifice is my privilege. 62227043.nhd.weebly.com Thank you, NHD, for the privilege and opportunity.
You may remember Aryasp. He is the same student who spoke before the Historical League at the David Wright House "Evening Under the Stars" during the fundraiser for NHD in 2016.
