The Arizona Historical Society Annual Meeting is free and open to the public.

We are delighted to announce that Marshall Trimble will be this year’s Keynote Speaker. Historian, teacher, author, storyteller, folk singer, broadcaster, and Marine veteran, Marshall  has been Arizona’s official historian since 1997 and the President of the Arizona Historical Society State Board of Directors since last November. He is preparing a wonderful program for your enjoyment.

AHS members will be mailed Annual Meeting invitations in early October. There is a fee for lunch and advanced reservations are necessary. Details will be in the invitations as well as posted on the AHS website.

Prior to November 5th the State Board of Directors Meeting agenda will be posted under the “State Board of Directors” tab on the AHS website Board of Directors webpage.

Phoenix's 1942 Era of Debauchery and Vice

Imagine Phoenix in 1942. It was a time when the city manager, magistrate and police chief were taking payoffs from pimps and Phoenix was considered a wide-open western town full of vice and violence. Find out how attorney Frank Snell brought 75 business leaders together and worked with the mayor and city commissions to create change. Save the Date for Esteban

A Holiday Concert with legendary Spanish guitarist Esteban is coming to AZ Heritage Center at Papago Park. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 5-9 pm. Esteban look-a-likes impressed us at the September 12 Historical League meeting. A video showing Esteban and his daughter, Teresa Joy and band members performing got us even more excited about the event.  Featuring tapas from The Dancing Chef, drinks (sangria, wine, beer) and wonderful raffle items, the evening looks to be very entertaining.
