Oval office of LBJ

The former Claudia "Lady Bird" Taylor, whom LBJ
married after a whirlwind courtship in 1934.
Ever want to get inside the oval office? Our Texas tour took us to the LBJ library in Austin with a 7/8 replica of the oval office. The library is filled with his stories and memorabilia including his many telephones. President Johnson, the 36th President of the United States from 1963 to 1969, used the phone as a very important tool in his politicking.
Lady Bird Johnson spend the remaining years of her life creating this library in memory of her husband who died at age 64 shortly after leaving office.

Bad Hair Day

Did anyone mention the humidity in Texas? The fabulous Historical League trip included a few comments about having a "Bad Hair Day".  Curls, waves and frizz or straight and flat . . . what's a girl to do? Gifts of t-shirts to Linda and Lindy said it all! "Jeep Hair Don't Care" and "Lake Hair Don't Care".
