NHDAZ West Region Competition at Northwest Christian Academy March 1

Judging for NHDAZ is serious business but these Historical League members made it lots of fun as well. Thanks to Cathy Shumard (who recruited many of the judges), Pat Faur, Katie Tovar, Sharon Scalise, Diana and Dave Smith for their volunteer time.

At West Regions NHD competition, they enjoyed working with the students: the interviews, the documentaries, the exhibits, websites, papers and performances.

From friendly smiles at 7 am with coffee, bagels and introductions, to presentations, interviews, judging, sandwiches and awards; Dr. Kristen Rex, Leonard Moody and Emily Hahn made sure the day went smoothly. Every detail was covered.

It takes a village and the Historical League provided judges, welcoming table and general all-around-helpers for the West Region NHDAZ competition.

Welcome table: Historical League volunteers Ruth McLeod, Tobe Daum, Caroline Bissell

Excited, nervous, enthusiastic and smart . . . these students did a fabulous job today at NHD West Regions competitions. Youth 4-5th grade. Junior 6-8th grade. Senior 9-12th grade. Below are a few pictures. Congratulations to all.
